Meetings

Will inflation continue to run hot?  What can we expect for interest rates in the coming years?  Are we headed for a recession nationally... or globally?  Understanding the national and global economic outlook will help you with your local investing.  We will listen to a recorded presentation made recently with a panel of experts including top economist, fund managers, and luminaries.  We will watch this presentation on the big screen together and then discuss.  

Come enjoy some pre-season holiday cheer.  We will be celebrating the growth of our club and, more importantly, the growth in our member's passive income!!!  There will be awards, please check your email for how to vote for award winners.  Entre provided (probably pizza), waters provided.  If so inclined, bring your favorite dessert, side dish and/or drink.

We will hear from Ramez Fakhoury, Vice President of IRA Club, a self directed IRA custodian.  What is a self-directed IRA, you ask?  Most IRA custodians will only let you invest in their mutual funds, some will allow most wall street products (stocks, bonds, mutual funds).  But very few IRA custodians allow main street investments (real estate, personal lending etc.).  These are known as self-directed IRA, because you, the investor, direct what you invest in.  All the tax advantages of a retirement account, without the constraints limiting local investment.  But there are some constraints and there are some tax implications.  For example, UBIT.  What the heck is UBIT?  Come and find out, and learn more about self-directed IRAs.    

Billings, Helena, Bozeman and Missoula investing clubs will join like Voltron to form the ultimate group.  We will have a round robin of presentations to provide a summary of each market and recent deal completed in each market.  Then there will be small breakout discussion groups to get to know people in other cities.   

We are back at the hotel meeting room, so joining virtually is back on (in fact one of our speakers may be joining from South America).  We will be discussing the ins and outs of executive rentals.  This is fully furnished monthly rentals.  Being a month to month avoids limitations of VRBO but can get a higher rental rate than long term lease.  Tory and Mike will be presenting on their efforts.  

Come with questions, ideas, successes and learning moments.  While the weather is nice, we will enjoy outside.  We will have open discussion at a pavilion at Story Mill Park.  There will be some picnic table seating, but feel free to bring a blanket or camp chairs.  

Tory is going to give us a tour of his tiny home.  Bring some camping chairs, we will sit outside and visit while Tory takes us in a few at a time for a tour.  We may have a cookout or bonfire after, more details to come.  

We are going to tour spend a day touring several Bozeman properties.  Then mastermind the our impressions over a beer.  Exact time and meeting location may change so check email a couple days prior to June 11.  For now plan on meeting at the parking lot across from the Local in Belgrade at 9am.
